Patterns

Time so far: 4 hours 7 seconds
This step is a lot more fun after the drudgery of solving the
centers for almost four hours. What I do here is turn the middle slices to
line up edge pieces that belong together. Occasionally I have to flip an
edge, or bring one into the middle from the top or bottom face. This step is
the exact same thing as step 2 of my 4x4x4
solution only expanded to a 20x20x20 cube. After I have finished solving an
edge (you can see one I've just completed in the FR position of the cube) I
put it in either the top or bottom face. You can see an edge I've already
solved in the RD position. In this part of the step I am going to fill up the
top and bottom faces with solved edges, leaving only the four edges of the
middle layer unsolved.
