This was my third attempt at this order cube, and it took 6510 moves. I beat my goal of under 2hrs, so I don't think I need to do this again any time soon. I wonder what the limit is for something like this?

22 hours 1 minute 57.11 secondsMichael GottliebIt was my first successful completion of a 20x20x20, but my second attempt. I did it in one sitting, with a centers-last method. I think it can be done much faster (around 1:30 or so) but I have to reprogram my simulator, because it lags too much.
You can find a video at youtube if you want to see it.

I think sub 2'30" is possible (as I wasted a lot of time on the centres this time - took more moves than my last go where I wasted around 700 at the end - and because orange and yellow are very similar on the machine here in the IOM).

This is really. boring I say.
Method used: cage with last 6 centres solved by purely commutators. .

144 hours 24 minutes 54 secondsChris HardwickI felt inspired to break this record as well as my 11x11x11 record today. I improved my 20x20x20 time by 1 hour 36 minutes and 42 seconds. This is only the second time I've ever solved a 20x20x20 cube. Also, to support my claim of solving a 20x20x20 cube I took a bunch of screen captures during my solving and created a page for it. Check it out and watch me solve a 20x20x20 cube. I will definately try to break this record again but some other day, my brain will probably be fried for a while :) One last thing, I did not do this in one sitting. I did it mostly in 20-30 minute pieces, with breaks in between to rest my brain. I did not look at or examine the cube at all during any of my breaks.

245 hours 24 minutesChris DaviesI don't think I'll bother with this again, it was much too tedious. About 5 hours of this time was spent on the centres, if not more.
Well over 10000 moves, but Gabbasoft won't count higher than 9999.
Glad I solved it though.

296 hours 14 minutes 8.66 secondsJack MoseleyThis was my first time solving anything bigger than a 10x10 (as soon as I got Gabbasoft I went straight for the 20x20). Could have been about 3 minutes faster but I did PLL parity twice. I seemed to use a lot less moves than other people (4808). The last two centers were horrible, there is probably a more efficient way than repeating variations of the same 7 move commutator 200 times in a row!20080426
306 hours 27 minutes 8.68 secondsBryan O'ConnorIm really proud of my self considering im 12 years old! I started off with a regular 3x3 rubiks cube, and that shows how much practice can go a long way. It was 8255 moves on Gabbasoft. Im probably only gonna do it again if someone my age beats my record, anyway, over a course of 3 days, i am VERY happy =)20071115
316 hours 56 minutes 3.65 secondsJeffrey Zhang(GabbaSoft) YES! I have finally finished it (over a span of about 2 days)! This solve took 8037 moves, and it is my first (and probably last) solve. I only did this so I can say I have solved it. =) I am only 13 years old.20071001
327 hours 3 minutes 23.54 secondsGreg Austinphew! that was long but worth the sense of achivment afterwards, what next? 40^3, 100^3, 20x20x20 BF? nah j/k thats a once in a life time thing for me that takes up too much off my time. im so happy though :) thanks to thom for motivation hehe.20070408

This was over the span of a week, while I was supposed to be studying for finals. My first attempt was erased when I accidentally rebooted during a solve. I'm sure that I can do better, but my fingers are sore from all of the clicking. I didn't use the best approach. Like with all of my initial solves I try to use elimination principles.

377 hours 42 minutesBenjamin Jose Enriquez2nd attempt. first was 12hrs 56mins ++. I did this with ABSOLUTELY NO STUDY. no tutorials, tips, hints, learned algs from other sources other than my intuition and knowledge of 3x3 4x4 and 5x5 (of course). next time i'll try to get around 5hrs or if possible sub5hrs.20070830
387 hours 46 minutes 55.02 secondsAlexei GousevSweet, I'm finally done. The only reason I did the 20x20x20 was because I knew that until I did, there would be a always little voice in my head saying "Solve the 20x20.". I used an extremely inefficient method that didn't require much thinking at all, just a lot of clicking. As a result, my move count was well over the GabbaSoft cube maximum. I reached 9,999 moves while pairing up the last 4 sets of edges. Because the undo button doesn't work in GabbaSoft when the move maximum is reached, I messed up twice after that, both times on the parity alg, but never too badly. It is very unlikely to do this again, as I wasn't aiming for a fast time, but just wanted to get it done. Btw, I am only 14 years old.20061204

4712 hours 37 minutes 23.85 secondsZebadiah W. ZiegenbeinFinally i solved the 20x20x20!!! After about a month of working on and off i finally solved it. It took me only 8881 moves and i noticed that i beat that one other guy who posted his moves too, and i beat him by about 500 moves. Even though he beat me by like 8 hours. This was just amazing thing i don't know when i will try this again but i can say it won't be soon. I use a wireless keyboard and the mouse is kind of hard to move because it is built in. If i was on a normal keyboard i could of had a much faster time. My goal was to beat 20 hours and i beat it by a lot. I still use the Gabbasoft program. I thank the creator of it and it works very well. And i am only 18 years old i bet i am one of the youngest solvers of this cube. All in all i am very happy with my performance.20060410

5020 hoursGreg HellingsChris Moyer-Grice, of the 40x40x40 first taught me the 3x3x3 cube about 5 months ago. Ever since then I've been addicted to cubing. This was my first giant cube in 3 months, so it was a bit difficult to recall all of the subtle nuances, and I must have spent about 5 of those hours getting the last few edges together where I had a parity error. This time was spread out over the interval of about a week's time. Thanks Chris!
