Cube High
No this isn't a joke. In this page I will discuss an interesting experience I have had while doing the cube.

Cube High
For a while, whenever I cubed for any long period of time, I would get a feeling of extreme concentration and somewhat of an altered perception. I would see things with more detail than I normally do. I also felt somewhat physically slugish, even though I would feel mentally alert. Not too long ago I started feeling what I call cube high. A few days ago I was practicing the cube and had been for about an hour. I tried doing the cube without really thinking about it. I tried to let my brain turn off, with me doing the cube switching over to automatic. During this time my cube times went down considerably. Most of my times were in the low twenties (20, 21, 22) and I had a bunch of times under 20 seconds. I also experienced a kind of euphoric feeling. It felt kind of like waves of energy were pulsing through my body. This feeling is kind of similar to a meditation excercise that I do. Anyway it put me in an extremely good mood and it felt really cool. I also noticed another effect. Whenever someone would talk to me after I had just completed the cube it would take me a second to be able to comprehend what they had said. I would have to mull over the words in my head a few times to get any meaning out of them. One weird thing about this euphoric high is that it is induced. Whenever I just did the cube I wouldn't really feel it. However when I would try to do the cube without really thinking, as if going on automatic then I would get cube high. I mentioned this to one of my friends at school and after he finished laughing he said that possibly it could be an effect of the chemical seratonin which the brain uses for logical thinking. It could be that after you've been cubing for a while (to where you can do it without really thinking) then your body may not need all of the seratonin that your brain produces in order to cube. This excess seratonin flowing around could be what produces the high.

Anyway this was my strangest experience while doing the cube. I can't complain though because it felt really cool. If anyone has ever experienced this, or has an explanation for it then please e-mail me.
