14 minutes 10 seconds | Rowe Hessler | this is a normal solve for me. i have to work on consistency before i go this fast in compeitiotn. i will get there though thanks to mondo! thank you for the amazing cube! :D | 20080310
16 minutes 33 seconds | Alex Cook | Yeah, nice! Non lucky, memo was around 8:30. | 20080723
18 minutes 27.22 seconds | Mike Hughey | Memorization time: 9:30. For an online competition. It's so nice to finally crack the 20 minute barrier! | 20080709
19 minutes 7.84 seconds | Ryosuke Mondo | Wow! This is my first success on 5x5x5 blindfolded. Total:19:07.84 memorizing:10 minutes solving:9 minutes 5x5x5 multi blind is next. | 20080108
20 minutes 54.10 seconds | Mátyás Kuti | Huhh. My second successful solve. Memorization in 8 minutes. | 20070213
25 minutes 47 seconds | Marcus Stuhr | Memorization is key. If you can memorize the cube in terms of efficient cycles and setups using as many methods as possible (I currently use about 10-12 memory methods), you can then execute moves without thinking about how to do something. Rather, you only need to know WHAT to do (it is similar in concept to solving a 3x3x3 speedcube. You don't have to think, just execute) -- you essentially memorize a map of the layout which instructs you on what to do during the move-execution session. Centers still pose a memory problem (and it's the hardest for me to memorize for some reason), but I hope to improve in that area. | 20051207
27 minutes 9.69 seconds | Trevor Davila | I took a long break from this, and now I got a sub-30. I'm hoping for sub-25 by next week. Cubestation YouTube | 20070726
36 minutes 16.54 seconds | Dror Vomberg | What's next? |
37 minutes 28.64 seconds | Josh Berg | YAY!! first attempt at a 5x5 and got it on the first try. I was way overcautious and didnt have a set memo, so this is going to be easily beaten next time. around 4 centers solved and nothing else. | 20080626
46 minutes 15 seconds | Daniel Beyer | Haha, can't wait to compete later this month!! My brother witnessed. | 20070306
56 minutes 25.16 seconds | Ouyang Yunqi | When I was memorizing the centers, suddenly I felt dizzy. When I tried to stand up, I found it was so difficult.About half a minute later, all goes common. I didn't realize what happened then. When I went to class after the solve, I heard of that a strong earthquake happened in my hometown. The feeling before was caused by it, the earthquake happened thousands of kilometres away!!Luckily, my family were safe. The memorization spent about half the time. | 20080529

This was the third try with the same scramble, the fourth counting all. Although this is not competition like circumstances I don't see that you benefit from trying the same scramble several times in any other way than that you save memorization time. Memorization time was 1:20, execution 50:27. | 20080709 |
