5x5x5 Cube: Blindfolded |
Place | Result | Name | Quote | Date |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 7 minutes 51.56 seconds | Ville Seppänen | Finally sub8. My accuracy is still bad, I've had many DNFs faster than this. And still using Eastsheen 5x5. | 20090507 |
2 | 14 minutes 10 seconds | Rowe Hessler | this is a normal solve for me. i have to work on consistency before i go this fast in compeitiotn. i will get there though thanks to mondo! thank you for the amazing cube! :D | 20080310 |
3 | 14 minutes 17 seconds | Ryosuke Mondo | I have only a week until Japan Open 2008. I really want a official record. Video:http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=S1pH0vnM7IU | 20080928 |
4 | 14 minutes 53.64 seconds | Mike Hughey | Memorization time: 7:36. For an online competition. I still can't believe I got a time like this! | 20081021 |
5 | 16 minutes 33 seconds | Alex Cook | Yeah, nice! Non lucky, memo was around 8:30. | 20080723 |
6 | 20 minutes 54.10 seconds | Mátyás Kuti | Huhh. My second successful solve. Memorization in 8 minutes. | 20070213 |
7 | 25 minutes 47 seconds | Marcus Stuhr | Memorization is key. If you can memorize the cube in terms of efficient cycles and setups using as many methods as possible (I currently use about 10-12 memory methods), you can then execute moves without thinking about how to do something. Rather, you only need to know WHAT to do (it is similar in concept to solving a 3x3x3 speedcube. You don't have to think, just execute) -- you essentially memorize a map of the layout which instructs you on what to do during the move-execution session. Centers still pose a memory problem (and it's the hardest for me to memorize for some reason), but I hope to improve in that area. | 20051207 |
8 | 27 minutes 9.69 seconds | Trevor Davila | I took a long break from this, and now I got a sub-30. I'm hoping for sub-25 by next week. Cubestation YouTube | 20070726 |

12 | 37 minutes 28.64 seconds | Josh Berg | YAY!! first attempt at a 5x5 and got it on the first try. I was way overcautious and didnt have a set memo, so this is going to be easily beaten next time. around 4 centers solved and nothing else. | 20080626 |

19 | 26 hours | Mats Luthman | Id2 u' R' D' d U2 L l' r2 R' d' u2 U' R' d' u' F2 l' B b' F U F' l2 D u2 B2 l r' R u' B2 R b f2 R' b' d f' U' l2 D' d' U2 B U2 f l' u B f' D2 f F d2 u2 R B2 b2 L' I guess it should be told that, to save a lot of time, I used the same scramble multiple times. This was the third try with the same scramble, the fourth counting all. Although this is not competition like circumstances I don't see that you benefit from trying the same scramble several times in any other way than that you save memorization time. Memorization time was 1:20, execution 50:27. | 20080709 |
