Organisation

The Dutch Open 2005 will be organised by Speedcubing.com together with World Cube Association and volunteers.
During the championship the official WCA regulations will be applied.

The championship will be held during Dutch Cube Day 2005, a big international gathering of puzzle fans, which includes a puzzle market and some lectures. Pictures of previous editions can be found via the Events page.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact organiser Ron van Bruchem.

Events

We cannot have preliminary rounds on Saturday night, like we used to do for previous championships. The reason is that there will be a German Championship on Saturday in Essen.
We also want to have some spare time during the cube day, to be able to walk around, talk and buy/sell/trade puzzles.
Therefore we need to focus on the popular events.

Hotel

Competitors coming from abroad can contact Ron. We may help you find a cheap place to stay.
We recommend you to stay at the Eindhoven Holiday Inn hotel on Saturday night. This hotel is next to Eindhoven train station and close to the venue.
We expect that many cubers will stay at that hotel. And there is a lobby where we can meet on Saturday night.
This hotel has a room rate of 44 euros per room per night. With two persons in one room, that is only 22 euros, not including tax and breakfast.
Check out the hotel website for information and bookings.
If you want to share a room with someone else, then please send an e-mail to Ron.

Other information

Entrance fee for Dutch Cube Day is 10 euro for NKC members, and 15 euro for guests. This includes coffee/tea/cake, refreshments and lunch.

All competitors must be registered before October 1, 2005.

Before the competition starts all competitors can practice on the official timing equipment: the Stackmat timer.
All puzzle brands may be used during the competition, as long as the puzzles comply to the WCA regulations.
Results of the championship will be added to the official WCA World Ranking.
