Dutch Open 2004


Dutch Open 2004 is a competition held during Dutch Cube Day 2004.
The official WCA regulations will be used.
The atmosphere of the competition will be informal.

Program

The program of Dutch Cube Day 2004 will be:
10:00: opening
12:00-13:30: lunch
13:30-13:50: lecture by Edo Timmermans "Shape Shifting Trinities"
13:50-14:10: lecture by Christian Eggermont "Multi-magic Squares"
14:10-14:30: lecture by Oskar van Deventer "Oskar's Exotics"
15:00-15:30: members meeting
17:00: closing
All day: puzzle market (buying/selling/trading) and Dutch Open championship.

Check out the time schedule. Some events will be held on saturday night!

Events

Depending on the number of competitors we will have this program:
  • 3x3x3: best of 3, average of 5 (8), average 5 (4)
  • 3x3x3 one-handed: best of 2
  • 3x3x3 blindfolded: best of 2
  • 4x4x4: best of 2, mean of 3 (3)
  • 5x5x5: best of 2, mean of 3 (3)
  • Magic: best of 3, average of 5 (3)
  • Clock: best of 2, mean of 3 (3)
  • Megaminx: best of 2
  • Square-1: best of 2, mean of 3 (3)
With (x) meaning the number of competitors in that round, and mean meaning average without removing best and worst attempt.
Most competitors will arrive on saturday. The preliminary rounds of the following competitions will be held on saturday night:
  • 3x3x3 one-handed (final)
  • 5x5x5
  • Clock (1st round plus final)
  • Megaminx (final)
  • Square-1

Registration

Registration is open. There is a time limit for all events, to make sure we can stick to our time schedule.
Competitors have to pay the entrance fee of Dutch Cube Day (12.50 euros, including lunch and coffee/tea).
If you are under 18 years, then first ask a parent or guardian for permission.
All competitors must be available for scrambling and judging on request of the organisation team.
