Ron3x3x3_1648.JPG (8391 bytes)

Ron Van Bruchem mpeg 16.48 sec

Ron van Bruchem, his is still in the process changing his method. I think he will manage an average of 15 sec. He is a potentional World Champion. I predict a World Record at 12.5 seconds is possible for 45 moves. He uses a Speed cube prepared by me (see below), see for tips how to make a 3x3x3 Speedcube Make Speedcube.

I have some cubes for sale that are very good for speedcubing

FOR SALE

Ron's old Method:

1) First white cross  bottom side                                           6.5 moves

2) First two layers                                                                26 moves

3) Orientiation orners + edges top layers make it yellow          9 moves

4) position corners + edges top layer                                    11 moves

                                                                         average   52.5 moves

I am not willing to tell Ron's new method.

Unoffcial World Record Rubik's Cube 3x3x3: Fastest Times to Solve

List is from www.speedcubing.com

Place Time Name Quote
1 11 seconds Jessica Fridrich It was a while ago, I guess, in 1993. See Dan's comment on the standards for records.
2 12 seconds Dan Knights This was not too lucky, according to Jessica's standard
2 12 seconds Ron van Bruchem Not including lucky times. I am learning new sets of algorithms and it's paying off.
4 12.17 seconds Dan Gos bee Did this in Hollywood, Florida at Holland America's Cruise ship terminal waiting area in front of about 200 people (after cube being scrambled by at least 4 people for like what seemed hours!!........someone out there has a video of it , I know it.... Using my yet published method (if you want to compare its sort of like Mark Waterman's method)
5 12.5 seconds Tony Snyder 2002
6 13.95 seconds Jess Bonde Not too lucky
7 14 seconds Matt Wilder n/a
7 14 seconds Chris Hardwick This was not a lucky time. I encountered every step and had to put in every edge/corner pair. I am working on improving my F2L times and this time went particularly fast for me though it was not lucky. I thought I would NEVER break my record after I didn't get any times even close to it for a few months. Recently I have been getting times around the 15's more often and this one has been my fastest so far. Hopefully I will get better at my F2L times and be able to get times around this consistently. Next I work on improving my average of ten.
7 14 seconds Ken Terao Non-lucky
10 15.62 seconds Ross Palmer Though most of the moves that I performed were among my fastest, technically this was not a lucky time as I performed the extent of my solution method, skipping no steps.
32 22.95 seconds Minh Thai The Official World Record (According to Guinness 2001)
33 23.01 seconds Ton Dennenbroek A bit lucky, but now that I am training for speed, it happens at least two times a days that I get under 30 sec.
